CENTER TO HOST CONSERVATION SPEAKER: The Johnston Senior Center will host a speaker from the Trumbull Soil and Water Conservation District at 1 p.m. Friday at the Center, 5922 Warren Road, Cortland. The presentation will be on storm water pollution prevention.
Topics will include good housekeeping, wetlands, environmental permitting, soils, erosion and sediment control, pollutants, and water management and inspections. Refreshments will be available.

HOSPICE TO HOST WINE TASTE BENEFIT: All Caring Hospice serving Ashtabula, Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties is hosting All Caring Hospice Caring about The Austintown Senior Center Wine Taste Benefit on Friday at the Senior Center, 100 Westchester Drive, Austintown, with doors opening at 6 p.m.
This event will include a 30-minute presentation by Dan of Mastropietro Winery, followed by an hour of wine tasting, accompanied by music and finger foods. Mastropietro will judge those wines currently being produced by members of the Senior Center, with a prize presented to that wine judged as Best in Show.
People must be 65 or older to attend. All proceeds benefit the Senior Center Activity Department.

LANE TO SPONSOR FOOD DRIVE: Lane Family Funeral Homes in Trumbull and Mahoning Counties are sponsoring a food drive beginning Friday until June 20 to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank.
Nonperishable food items may be dropped at the Mineral Ridge Chapel, Austintown Chapel, Boardman Chapel, Canfield Chapel, Shafer-Winans Chapel, Roberts-Clark Chapel, Madasz Chapel, or Niles Chapel between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The associates from the funeral homes will volunteer at Second Harvest on June 25 to assist in packing the food for distribution.
CARD PARTY: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Altar and Rosary will hold its 58th annual card party at 2:30 p.m. April 27 in the SS. Cyril and Methodius social hall, 185 Laird N.E., Warren. There will be raffles, cards, bingo, door prizes and a salad bar and a dessert.
