YOUNGSTOWN - Farmers markets are planned from June to October in downtown Warren and at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.
Farmers who produce locally grown, sustainable produce will be featured at each of the markets.
The Lake-to-River Food Cooperative is once again partnering with Humility of Mary Health Partners on bringing fresh produce to its employees and nearby neighbors.
The Warren markets, sponsored by St. Joseph Health Center in collaboration with the Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership, will be from 3 to 6 p.m. the first Tuesday of the month on Courthouse Square in Warren: June 3, July 1, Aug. 5, Sept. 2 and Oct. 7.
St. Elizabeth's markets will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. the first Wednesday of the month in the hospital's private dining rooms: June 4, July 2, Aug. 6, Sept 3 and Oct. 1.
"We appreciate the willingness of HMHP to partner with Lake-to-River for a fourth year. It is a really great collaboration that serves our communities by helping get fresh food to our neighbors," said Melissa Miller, Lake to River Food Cooperative.
Vendors at these farmers markets will accept the Ohio Direction EBT card at the St. Elizabeth market.
WIC will also be accepted and payroll deduction will be available for HMHP employees.
