SOCIETY TO DISCUSS HERBS: The Brookfield Township Historical Society will meet 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Briceland Funeral Home. Speaker is Nancy Kovak, president of the Trumbull County Herb Society, who will discuss herbs, their history and their uses just in time for spring planting.

POLICE AWARENESS TRAINING: Applications are being accepted for the Warren Police Department's Citizen's Police Awareness Academy Training. The next class is scheduled to start Wednesday. Classes will will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. in the roll call room. Residents can get an application from at www.warren.org or at the Records Office inside the police department, 141 South St. S.E. This will be the last class before the summer break. During the seven -week course, residents are given an overview of police policies and procedures, tour of the county jail, police ride along, training on use of deadly force simulated scenario, remarks by the Warren's administration and police chief, presentations by the city prosecutor's office, drug task force and health department.
