FORT MEYERS, Fla. - David Leonard Weimer, 69, of Fort Myers and formerly of Niles, left his Earthly home to be in the presence of the Lord on Friday, April 11, 2014.
He was born March 24, 1945, in Warren, the son of Eugene and Patricia Parks Weimer.
He graduated from Mineral Ridge High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. He later attended Youngstown State University as well as ATES Air Conditioning School. He attended Niles First Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon for a couple of years and later attended Winkler Road Baptist Church in Fort Myers. He was an avid Ohio State Fan as well as a Cleveland Browns fan.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his loving wife of 45 years, Gail Wire Weimer; two children, Tricia (Doug) Hounshell and Jeff (Ann) Weimer; brothers, Ron (Dixie) Weimer and Fred (Barb) Weimer; sister, Carrol Weimer; and five grandchildren, Chloe, Hope, Julia, Andrew and True.
A celebration of David's life will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Gendron Funeral & Cremation Services Inc. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Sarasota National Cemetery.
