Pound destroyed stolen canine friend
Beware of Trumbull County Dog Pound.
If you own a dog in Trumbull County, you want to keep them inside under lock and key.
An incident involving the pound occurred when a mentally unstable person took my dog without my permission or authorization to the pound, and they destroyed the dog without proof of ownership or registration. They just took the person's word for it that she owned the dog.
To make a tragic, unnecessary event worse, the pound wrongly told me the next morning the dog had been picked up by someone called a transporter who took him to an out-of-state shelter.
I now have to live with the fact that my beloved, cherished companion is in a landfill with birds pecking at his body.
Don't be fooled thinking this pound is a shelter or a kennel, as their sign on Anderson Road states. In five minutes, they killed a perfectly healthy young dog without even trying to rehome him or send him to a rescue.
Their protocol must be changed, and immediately. Keep your dog close, and don't let the pound do this again.
