BRACEVILLE - James Elmer Bailey, 71, of Braceville, passed into eternal life on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at his residence surrounded by his family.
On July 27, 1942, in Buckhannon, W.Va., Virgil Jennings and Carrol A. Rowan Bailey were blessed with the birth of their son, James.
James married the love of his life, Sherry Ann Jenkins, on Dec. 14, 1963, and they enjoyed 50 years of marriage together.
James and Sherry had lived in Braceville since 1973, and formerly was of Warren.
James was a welder at WSW Industries in Kent for 28 years before retiring in 2008.
He was a member of the Church of God in Leavittsburg, and was a member of the Newton Falls Masonic Lodge.
James enjoyed golfing at Riverview Golf Club.
Memories of James will be carried on by his loving family, his wife, Sherry of Braceville; his daughter, Connie (Terry) Miller of Buckhannon, W.Va.; his son, Nelson (Christine) Bailey of Austintown; his sisters, Marie (Darrel) Bonner, Alice Devericks, Mazie (Ronald) England, all of Buckhannon, W.Va., Thelma Dietrich of Tara Alta, W.Va., and Rita (Dwight) Barnett of Buckhannon, W.Va.; his brothers, Dennis Bailey of Roanoke, Va., Lynn (Jenny) Bailey, Glenn (Kay) Bailey, Gary Bailey and Dwayne (Vicky) Bailey, all of Buckhannon, W.Va.; his grandchildren, Heather and Marcus Miller, CJ Martini and Jennifer Dailey; and his great-granddaughter, Sarah Dailey.
James was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls. James will then be taken to Poling-St.Clair Funeral Home in Buckhannon, W.Va., where calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday.
James will be laid to rest in Bailey Cemetery in Buckhannon, W.Va.
