WARREN - William R. "Bill" Flemming Jr., 79, of Warren, died at 10:05 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014, at the Hospice House in Poland with his wife by his side.
He was born on July 29, 1934, in Warren, the son of the William R. and Mary Parlas Flemming Sr.
Bill was a 1953 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and formerly worked and was retired from Heltzel Steel in Warren and Transco in Newton Falls.
He enjoyed watching football, especially the Cleveland Browns. He was very attentive to his favorite pet cats, both named Betsy.
Survivors include his wife, the former Amelia Paolina Valerio, whom he married on Aug. 2, 1969; his daughter, Christina Marie (Robert) Fisher of Warren; his grandchildren, Maria Christina Mullenax and Michael William Fisher both of Warren. Also surviving are his siblings, Richard (Phyllis) Flemming of Kinsman, Mary Elizabeth LaCella of Las Vegas, Nev., and Margaret Glodde of Tyler, Texas; two nephews and four nieces.
Other than his parents, William was preceded in death by two nephews, James LaCella and Jeff Rebhan.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Drive N.E., Warren, Ohio 44481, where the Rev. Bernard Schmalzried will celebrate William's life. Family and friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, and also one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery, Bazetta.
