VIENNA The union representing nonteaching employees of Mathews Local Schools voted this evening to accept a contract, ending a year-long negotiation with the district.
According to Ron Blatt, field representative of Local 611 of the Ohio Association of Public School Employees, the union voted 17-9 in favor of accepting a tentative contract agreement.
It was the union's second vote on the same contract in less than a week. Last Wednesday, the union's first vote ended in a 12-12 deadlock.
There are no raises for the first two years and a half-percent increase the third year, as well as an increase in health care premiums.
