Trumbull students to compete
KENT - Eight undergraduate students from Kent State University at Trumbull will participate in an upcoming symposium at Kent's main campus on April 2.
Biology, English and psychology students will compete for cash awards, develop research and presentation skills and prepare for graduate school or other professional opportunities during the Undergraduate Symposium on Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity.
The following Trumbull students will give presentations during the event: psychology students Morgan Fee, Randi Hidasey, Greg Perry and Vince Sabelli; English student Shannon Lutz; and biology students Anthony Amicucci, Michael Hickle and Kyra Yonnotti.
Tribune presents gospel concert
WARREN - Tickets are on sale now for a double bill featuring Gold City Quartet and The Keelings beginning at 7 p.m. May 19 at Packard Music Hall.
Alabama-based Gold City Quartet has performed gospel music for 34 years and achieved the rare accomplishment of earning No.1 songs in each of the last four decades, with their most recent being "Peter James and John" in 2012.
The Keelings, from Hadley, Pa., delighted a Packard Hall audience in 2012 and have been performing for more than 20 years.
"Both of these groups have been touring for decades and they put on a great show," said Sue Shafer, Tribune Chronicle community events coordinator.
A limited number of artist circle tickets are available for $20. Tax prep offered for military
Ohio military families may sign up for free tax preparation from The Ohio Society of CPAs, the group announced.
CPAs from around the state will volunteer to prepare tax returns for military personnel who are permanent residents of Ohio and currently deployed outside of the state. Operation CPA is a partnership with the Ohio National Guard and has helped hundreds of military families since 2005.
