WARREN - Warren police are searching for suspects after a verbal confrontation between two women in a gas station parking lot led to one woman being pepper-sprayed and the other nearly run over by a vehicle.
Just after 9 p.m. Tuesday, police were dispatched to the USA Gas Mart on South Pine Street.
Barbara Jackson, 17, reported she was accosted by two women driving what was described as a green SUV.
Officers later identified the vehicle as a 1999 Ford Expedition.
While waiting for a car driven by Nathaniel Fugate to leave the gas station, Jackson said a woman in the SUV waved at her.
She waved back.
At that point, Jackson said the SUV pulled forward and attempted to block her in, the police report states.
One woman got out of the SUV and started yelling at Jackson and told her to get out of the car. The woman opened the door to drag Jackson out.
That is when Jackson pulled out her pepper spray and discharged the spray into the woman's face.
The woman returned to her car, pulled forward and rammed the front of Fugate's car. The police report lists $5,000 in damage to the front passenger's side of the vehicle.
When Jackson got out of the car, the driver of the SUV backed up and attempted to run her over, the police report states. Fugate pulled Jackson out of the path of the vehicle, and the SUV left, the report states.
Police reviewed the security footage at the station and were able to verify the initial report. Police were also able to obtain a license plate number and partial physical descriptions of the suspects.
The investigation is ongoing.
