Firefighters from Liberty Fire Department responded to a tractor trailer that ignited about 6 p.m. Monday in the eastbound lane of Interstate 80. The driver was not injured, but traffic was limited to one lane. The Ohio State Highway Patrol was handling the incident about a quarter mile east of the Belmont Avenue exit. Liberty Township fire Capt. Bill Opsitnik said that the accident caused minimal disruption to the flow of traffic. "There was one lane shut down for about 20 minutes, but we were able to get traffic flowing quickly," Opsitnik said. He added that the incident is still under investigation, but foul play is not suspected.
