No action was taken following a special meeting today by the Austintown Board of Education regarding an investigation into claims by superintendent Vincent Colaluca that he was verbally threatened by a board member last year.
The board went into executive session shortly after 9:30 a.m. for more than two hours but took no action.
The board began an investigation on Nov. 7 after a police report filed Oct. 29 by Colaluca stated he was verbally threatened by board member Harold Porter in the elementary school cafeteria following an Oct. 22 board meeting. The report states Porter said something to Colaluca that he was unable to hear. Colaluca was later advised by board member David Ritchie, who was seen walking Porter out of the cafeteria, that Porter had made the alleged threat.
