FARMDALE - Suzanne L. Weed-Summerlin, 79, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Cortland Health Care.
She was born on Oct. 30, 1934, in Warren, the daughter of Berenice Ruse Forsythe Weed and Paul Schauder Weed.
Suzanne was raised in Warren and graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in 1953.
She worked as a waitress / bartender at the Chateau, Brown Derby and the Rancho Villa in Warren, the Florida Gardens in Orwell, and the Hole in the Wall in Mecca. She retired as a contract worker for ADECCO at the Dana Street offices of Packard Electric/Delphi.
Suzanne was active in genealogy pursuits and the Greene Historical Society. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge 453 in Warren. Suzanne also enjoyed gardening, reading, crafts and her beloved cats.
Suzanne is survived by her three daughters, Cyndy Groff (Dave) Durst and Carole-Anne Groff Finch, both of Cortland, and Paula Lee Summerlin (Jacque) of Rockport, Wash.; her three grandsons, Matt (Laura) Leonard of Fowler, Josh (Kelly) Leonard of Columbus and Paul (Katie) Finch of Cleveland; and her four great-grandchildren, Carter and Maryn Leonard of Columbus and Jacob and Michael Leonard of Fowler.
She was preceded by her parents; her brother, Gregory P. Weed; and a son who died at birth.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday at the Cortland Opera House, 152 North Park Ave., Cortland.
The family encourages material contributions to be made in memory of Suzanne to the Greene Historical Society and the Animal Welfare League.
Arrangements for Suzanne were entrusted to the Borowski Funeral Service and Oak Meadow Cremation Services.
