WARREN - A city man is facing felonious assault charges after a Monday evening confrontation involving his child's mother.
The woman, Shika S. Richardson, 23, of Clermont Avenue N.E., said Brandon M. Evans, 23, got into a heated argument while the two were drinking at Evans' home at 147 Linden Ave. N.E. about 9 p.m., according to a Warren police report.
Richardson told police that Evans punched her face and body, and hit her at least four or five times with a 2-by-4 board, reports state.
She told police she got away from Evans while other people in the house stopped him from hitting her.
She hid Evans' car keys because she was afraid he would drive drunk, the police report states. She got into Evans' unlocked car, and locked it when she saw him coming toward her.
She said he unlocked and reached into the vehicle and began to hit her. She told police she grabbed a coffee mug and swung it, hitting Evans in the forehead before running back into the house to hide.
Richardson and Evans were both treated at treated at Trumbull Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.
Evans, who also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest, was taken to the Trumbull County Jail.
