FARMDALE - Louis M. "Louie" Palich Jr., of Farmdale, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at the age of 89.
He was born Sept. 20, 1924, in Warren.
Along with working at Republic Steel in Niles for many years, he was also a farmer in Trumbull County for most of his life and a longtime member of Bazetta Christian Church.
Louie is remembered for his love and knowledge of horses, being a hard working man and for always having time to help someone.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Martha (Rufener); and was the devoted father of sons, John (Donna) of Kinsman, Martin (Cheryl) of Farmdale and Marlin (Diane) of Cortland, and daughter, Kathy Patterson (Lanny) of Parma; along with being a loving grandfather of six and great-grandfather of seven and brother to Florence Parke of Massillon and Dr. William Palich of Louisburg, N.C.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis M. Sr. and Mary (Mitrovich) Palich; and brothers, George Palich, Thomas Thomas, Joseph Thomas and Cirilo Palich.
Even though flowers are appreciated, the family requests that memorials be made to Bazetta Christian Church.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bazetta Christian Church, 4131 Hoagland Blackstub Road, Cortland. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
Interment will be at All Souls Cemetery.
