YOUNGSTOWN - Ann Savarin, 86, died Friday morning, March 14, 2014, at Victoria House in Austintown.
She was born Sept. 15, 1927, in Youngstown, a daughter of Charles and Stella Horyak Olenych, and was a lifelong area resident.
She attended Chaney High School, and was a homemaker who also worked at the former Kress Five & Dime in downtown Youngstown. She subsequently worked for Packard Electric before retiring as an inspector from the General Electric Austintown Coil Plant in 1989 after 23 years of service.
Mrs. Savarin was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and was a member of the Eastern Orthodox Women's Society.
She is survived by a daughter, JoAnn (William) Sarich of Poland; two grandchildren; a great-grandson; three stepgrandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren,
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Jeff" Savarin; three sisters, Rose Pope, Mary Castrucci and Helen Roseman; and two brothers, Andrew Budinsky and Charles Olenych.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown.
Funeral services will begin at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home, and will continue at 11 a.m. at SS. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church on North Belle Vista Avenue in Youngstown.
Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.
