WARREN - Alexander Hernandez, 90, died Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Humility of Mary Hospice House after a long illness.
He was born April 12, 1923, in Gregory, Texas, the son of Manuel and Genevieve Rios Hernandez.
He volunteered for the Merchant Marines and the U.S. Navy, serving each for two years.
Mr. Hernandez retired from Ohio Edison. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Catherine Zito Hernandez; children, Diana Muccio, Donna Mahan and David Hernandez, all of Warren; eight grandchildren and two great-grandsons; a sister, Mary Louise Wilson; and three brothers, Richard, Ruben and Jesse in Mexico.
He was preceded in death by five brothers.
Family and friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish (St. James Church), Warren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery, Bazetta.
Arrangements are being handled by the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, Warren.
