NEWTON FALLS -- Police and Trumbull County HazMat crews raided a suspected Methamphetamine lab Tuesday afternoon in the village.
"We had reliable information that there was suspected methamphetamine being manufactured here, and a subsequent check of it revealed that there in fact was," Newton Falls police Chief Gene Fixler said.
HazMat, the Trumbull County Sheriff's Office, Newton Falls police and fire departments, and the Warren Police Department's K-9 unit were called just after 3 p.m. to 314 Ophelia St. HazMat workers could be seen from the street collecting materials from a detached garage behind the house.
Fixler said the substances will be sent to the state Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and if the results are positive, charges are expected to be filed against the person police believe was manufacturing the meth.
