NILES - Vincent James "Jim" Cardinal, 90, of Niles, died at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Washington Square Nursing Home in Warren.
He was born Feb. 4, 1924, in Dover, the son of Anthony and Julia Pietro Cardinal.
Jim was a 1942 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, attended Baldwin Wallace College for four years and graduated from Youngstown State University with a degree in business.

He was employed as a roll grinder for 30 years at LTV Republic Steel retiring in 1985, a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, Niles Moose, and enjoyed sports, dancing, was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II.
He will be deeply missed by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Cardinal; and a sister, Virginia Cardinal. His sister, Josephine Marrara, died March 7 in Warren.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles, where the Mt. Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct 7:30 p.m. prayers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles, preceded by a 9:15 a.m. prayer service at the funeral home.
Jim's calling hours and Mass will be held in conjunction with his sister, Josephine Marrara.
Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
