Sesame Street Live returns to Youngs-town for two performances on Wednesday.
This year's production is "Can't Stop Singing." Elmo gets his hands on Abby Cadabby's magic wand and turns Sesame Street into a nonstop, all-singing and all dancing musical.
Grover and Baby Bear sing their highs and lows, Cookie Monster sings fast and slow, Bert and Ernie converse in song and Murray makes mouth music. The young audience members will learn why it feels good to sing a song, and why it feels good to stop too as Elmo learns about the power of musical magic.
Sesame Street Live’s “Can’t Stop Singing” comes to Powers Auditorium for two performances on Wednesday.
The touring stage show features many of the characters from the popular educational series that premiered 45 years ago on PBS. "Sesame Street" now is seen in more than 150 countries, and the Vee Corporation has been staging Sesame Street Live tours since 1980.
The production mixes songs popularized on the program as well as such reworked pop hits as "Shout" and "You Can't Stop the Music."
"Can't Stop Singing" will be staged at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Powers Auditorium, 260 W. Federal St., Youngstown. Tickets are $47 (including a Meet & Greet with the characters) and $22 and are available at the DeYor box office and by calling 330-744-0264.
