CARNIVAL TO BENEFIT ETHIOPIA: The fifth annual Kids Fest Carnival will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at LaBrae High School cafeteria. There will be games, food, magic show, basket raffle and auction. The Jungle Terry wild animal show will begin at noon. There will be a cornhole tournament.
All proceeds from the event will benefit River of Hope International which helps aid in educating children in Ethiopia. Ethiopia artifacts and Ethiopian coffee tasting stand will be held.
COUNCIL PLANS EVENT: The Champion Schools Senior Citizen Advisory Council is planning its dinner theater and awards program from 5 to 6:30 p.m. April 3 at Champion High School cafeteria. Reservations are needed by March 21 by calling Carolyn at 330-847-2338.
The Champion Senior Citizen Performer of the Year Award winner will be announced.
SCANNER CLUB TO MEET: The Greater Youngstown Monitoring Association Scanner Club will meet at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St. Anyone interested in scanner monitoring or amateur radio hobby is welcome.
VETS TO RECEIVE ASSISTANCE: The Military Veterans Resource Center will host its Veterans Career Assistance Program for veterans looking to jumpstart their post-service careers from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Trumbull County Commissioners offices, with lunch provided.
The VCAP is a personalized, interactive workshop designed to help veterans realize their skills, career goals, and employment opportunities in the civilian job market. The program will include a series of seminars covering the essential tools veterans need in their job search.

PRODUCE TO BE GIVEN OUT: The Warren Family Mission, 361 Elm Road, will give out free potatoes and apples starting 11 a.m. Friday.
