NILES - Lois Jean Dean Davidson, 84, died peacefully in her sleep Sunday, March 2, 2014, at home.
She was born Sept. 9, 1929, in Conneaut Lake, Pa., the daughter of Karl and Helen Lupher Dennis.
She graduated from Conneaut Lake High School in 1947, took a two-year secretarial course at Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa., and worked as a secretary for Talon in Meadville, Pa.
She married Clarence (Dave) Davidson on Sept. 9, 1950. They had been married 64 years. They moved to Niles in 1956.
She was an active member of the Niles First Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband; and by her children, Pamela Davidson of Olympia, Wash., Patrick of Jefferson City, Mo., Helen (Michael) Ross of Meadville, Pa. and Mark (Michele) of Holly, Mich.; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Davidson of Seattle and Wilma Dennis of Jamestown, Pa.; a brother, Martin Dennis of Boise, Idaho; brother-in-law, Darwin Williams of Conneaut Lake Pa.; six grandchildren, David Ross of Saegertown, Pa., Sarah (Dawson) Weber of Dumfries, Va., and Hallie McLean of Edmonds, Wash., and Austin Davidson, Trevor Davidson and Maya Davidson of Holly, Mich.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lois and Clarence have traveled the United States extensively, including two motorhome trips to Alaska and visiting nearly all of the National Parks and Monuments. The couple have spent the last 22 years wintering in various favored spots of Florida.
A memorial service will be held at Niles First Methodist Church at the convenience of her family.
Her ashes will be buried at a later time at Roselawn Cemetery near Meadville, Pa., near her parents.
