CORTLAND - Karen E. Francis, 63, of Cortland, passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at St. Joseph Health Center.
She was born March 8, 1950 in Volga, W.V., a daughter of the late Woodford and Wilda Streets Arbogast.
She married Paul A. Francis on Dec. 18, 1971.
She was a graduate of Kent State University and was a registered nurse with St. Joseph Health Care Center for 42 years.
Karen was a member of Mecca Community Church, where she served on various church committees.
Karen also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Loving memories of Karen will be carried on by her daughter, Michelle (Jack) Reynolds of Warren; son, Thomas Francis of Warren; stepsons, Robert (Sue) Cover of Mineral Ridge, Richard Francis of Niles, David (Debbie) Francis of Niles and Paul (Melissa) Francis of Niles; stepdaughters, Debra (James) Saxon of Stow and Bethann Francis of Niles; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Jimmy (Sherri) Arbogast of Ferndale, Mich.; and three sisters, Sharon Fox of Mecca, Sandy Arbogast of Oak Park, Mich., and Barb (Mike) Popp of Ferndale, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul A. Francis Sr., who passed away Nov. 8, 1997; and a grandson, Kristopher VanHorn.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, with Pastor Tim May officiating.
Family and friends are kindly invited to visit from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Pineview Memorial Park, Warren.
