GREENVILLE, Pa. - Louise T. Leeper, 97, of Greenville, Pa., formerly of Cortland, died at 4 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at the White Cliff Nursing Home in Greenville, Pa.
She was born on Oct. 15, 1916, in Roberts, Idaho, the daughter of the late Alden and Anna Schwartzenberger Dempster.
Mrs. Leeper attended Greene Local Schools. Louise was a homemaker, and also had worked at the Lakeview Nursing Home and for DiGiacobbe Pizza - both were located in Cortland.
She also worked until she was 86 doing home health care. She loved to bake and was well known for her pies, cakes, especially her wedding cakes, and most noteworthy were her cinnamon rolls.
Survivors include her children, David (Linda) Leeper of Jamestown, Pa., with whom she made her home; four grandchildren, Wanda (Larry) Blanchard of Marble Falls, Texas, James (Sandy) Shreves Jr. of Nashville, Tenn., Wendy Kimball of Newport, Maine, and Trey (Kathy) Leeper of Pittsburgh; two stepgrandchildren, Michael (Melitza) McAdoo of Orlando, Fla., and Stacy McAdoo of Newton Falls; nine great-grandchildren, Amber, April, Michael, Megan, Amanda, Scott, Nicole, Levi and Jaxson; six stepgreat-grandchildren, Paige, Alexis, Tyler, Kelsey, Kylie and Kaleb; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Other than her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Lyal F. Leeper, on March 16, 1975, and they were united in marriage on Aug. 5, 1939; her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and James Shreves; one grandson, Eric Leeper; and two sisters, Rosemary Mitrovka and Frances Falatic.
There will not be any calling hours or services, and burial will take place in the All Souls Cemetery, Bazetta Township.
