NILES - Mark R. Morrall, 53, of Niles went to meet Jesus face to face at 9:40 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, with his family at his side at St. Joseph's Health Center in Warren, under the care of Hospice of The Valley.
He was born Sept. 3, 1960, in Warren, the son of Edward and Rae Monteith Morrall.
Mark was a 1979 graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School and attended Youngstown State University studying biology. He worked as a surgical scrub technician at Trumbull Memorial Hospital from 1980 to 1992.
His love of animals led him to pursue a career as an animal technician through which he cared for thousands of animals at Animal Welfare and numerous veterinarian clinics in Trumbull and Mahoning counties.
He most recently retired from his favorite position in 2011 as the animal control officer for the city of Niles.
He was a member of Grace Fellowship Church where he was on the Praise and Worship Team, enjoyed fishing, collecting vintage cameras and coins, and an avid sports fan of all things Ohio, especially the Buckeyes.
Mark felt his greatest contribution was from his music, playing drums for many decades in various bands, but mostly for the Lord through contemporary Christian music.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Mary Christophersen Morrall, whom he married Aug. 21, 1999; a daughter Ashley Morrall of Niles; a brother, Gary Morrall and his wife Monica of Champion; a sister, Jodi McKenzie and her husband Clifford of Delaware, Ohio; many in-laws, numerous nieces and nephews, a great-niece and a great-nephew, his best friend Bill Sardich, and his dog, Molly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving dog, Pokey.
