HARTFORD - Dennis David Dickson, 52 of Hartford, a loving husband, proud father, devoted son and loyal brother, passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014.
Dennis was born June 11, 1961, to Don C. and Mary Ann Mizicko Dickson.
He was a 1979 graduate of Brookfield High School where he excelled at varsity basketball. He attended Youngstown State University and studied to become an emergency medical technician.
He was in partnership with his brother as co-owner/operator of D&D Landscaping and Excavating Inc. of Brookfield, established in 1982, and actively working on the family farm.
He was an avid supporter of Badger athletics as well as supporting extended family activities. In his free time, he relished water skiing, boating, fishing and hunting with family and friends. He was a yearly actor in the Boar's Head performance of the Orangeville United Methodist Church.
He will be immensely missed by his wife of 22 years, Cynthia Lyons Dickson, and his children, Skye Lyons of St. Cloud, Fla., and Devan, Dylan and Cheyanne, all at home. Also surviving are his mother, Mary Ann Dickson of Brookfield; and his siblings including Dawn (Robert) Thompson of Hubbard, Rick (Bonnie) Dickson and Daryl (Lisa) Dickson, both of Brookfield, and Traci (Jeff) Hill of Hubbard. He will also be sadly missed by his in-laws, Joe and Peg Lyons of Sandy Lake, Candace Burnette of Stoneboro, Joe (Tracy) Lyons of Sandy Lake and Bill (Jacque) Lyons of Slippery Rock; his 14 nieces and nephews and six great-neices and -nephews; and countless aunts, uncles and cousins.
Dennis was a friend to everyone, he was thoughtful, caring and generous. His big-hearted nature will be a loss to many.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Chapel Community Church, 4075 Lamor Road, Hermitage, PA 16148, with the Rev. Larry Haynes officiating.
As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Bager High School Athletic Department, 7119 state Route 7, Kinsman, OH 44428.
