NEWTON FALLS - Ann May Hildack, 97, of Newton Falls, passed away peacefully Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.
Ann was born Aug. 7, 1916, in Warren, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Hoostal. Ann grew up and went to school in Newton Falls.
She married Joseph A. Hildack Sr. on Oct. 22, 1938. They lived and raised their children in Newton Falls where Ann and Joe worked the family landscaping business. Mrs. Hildack also worked in sales at Ruth's Apparel in Newton Falls.
Ann was a member of St. Joseph Church, Newton Falls, and in her younger years was part of the Ladies Guild at the church.
Loving memories of Ann will be carried on by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisbeth and Robert Messerly of Howland; her granddaughter and her husband, Patricia and James Gregory of Columbus; her grandson and his wife, David and Stacy Messerly of Raleigh, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Aidan and Cameron Gregory and Grant and Jack Messerly.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Hildack Sr. ; her son, Joseph A. Hildack Jr.; her sister, Mary Shesko; and her brother, John Hoostal.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls where services will be held 10 a.m.Wednesday. A funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Newton Falls. Father Thomas Ungashick will officiate.
Mrs. Hildack will be laid to rest beside her husband, Joseph, in St. Michael's Cemetery, Newton Falls.
