Anything trickle down to you lately?
All of the corporate tax cut money that was supposed to trickle down to create jobs and raise workers' wages has trickled down all right, right into the pockets of CEOs and greedy stockholders. While corporate profits have skyrocketed, middle class wages have flatlined.
All of these corporate giants rule today's economics and politics as well and a huge hailstorm of statistics shows the damage they're wreaking on the poor and middle class. Behind those stats are living, breathing people being knocked down and shut out.
These big corporations have their own group of yes men and women in the House and Senate that they keep in line by threatening to cut off their campaign contributions.
This bunch of corporate-owned and tea party-run House members voted to eliminate millions of people from the food stamp program - including a lot of our veterans - and they destroyed 1.3 million people and their families' Christmas by cutting their unemployment benefits.
I wonder if they wished them a happy new year, too.
When I heard that nut Paul Ryan announce that he had gotten 70 percent of what he wanted in the budget deal, I couldn't believe it. President Obama should have put his foot down and demanded that unemployment benefits be extended and not for just three months.
The majority rule in this country is a thing of the past. Every time you look at a poll on issues that affect the poor, the elderly, veterans and the middle class in general, it's always in their favor, but with the tea party, the Koch brothers and Wall Street running the show, you can kiss majority rule goodbye.
