HOWLAND - Mary Paukovich, 89, passed away late Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.
Mary was born on Oct. 19, 1924, in Iselin, Pa., a daughter of Ralph and Ada Blasin.
She will be welcomed into heaven by her parents and siblings, John Blasin, Joseph Blasin, Helen Zalac, Jean Enciso, Erma Prenni and Amelia Petricig, and her beloved husband, Joseph P. Paukovich.
Mary was a faithful Roman Catholic who was devoted to her church. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening and baking.
As a child, Mary's fondest memories were the loud and festive times at Christmas spent with her siblings and parents. As an adult, she was a determined woman. As a mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother (''G-G''), her greatest gift was her strength of character, dedication and faithful love for them. They will miss her greatly.
Mary was most proud of her family. She is survived by her two sons, Joe (Bernadette) Paukovich of Malvern and Jim (Susan) Paukovich of Howland; four grandchildren, Adam (Sara) Paukovich of Chapel Hill, N.C., Jessica (Travis) Paukovich-Lockney of Lebanon, Jim Paukovich of Howland and Jillaine Paukovich of Palm Harbor, Fla.; two great-grandchildren, Lila Paukovich and Joe Lockney; and three sisters, Rose Rocco of Clarksburg, Pa., Angeline Cook of Aultman, Pa., and Jessie (Joseph) Spellane of Clarksburg, Pa.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at the Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Girard with a 9 a.m. prayer service at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Madasz Chapel, 6923 Warren Sharon Road, Brookfield, OH 44403.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. Burial will take place 3 p.m. Monday in Iselin Union Cemetery in Iselin, Pa.
