CANFIELD - Sophie Cherol, 91, of Barber Drive, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 29, 2014, at her home with her family by her side.
She was born Dec. 7, 1922, in Jenners, Pa., the daughter of Julius and Josephine Vittori Bertolini.
Sophie was involved in her husband's many businesses, starting with Club Merry-Go-Round. She was a lifelong member of St. Brendan Church in Youngstown.
Survivors include a son, John A. of Beaufort, S.C.; a daughter, Rachelle Cherol Goldstein of Bethesda, Md.; four grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Gawdyda of McDonald; and a brother, James Bertolini of Warren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Cherola, and a brother and a sister.
Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Kinnick Funeral Home in Youngstown. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home and continue at 11:30 a.m. at St. Brendan Church.
Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, where Sophie will be laid to rest next to her husband.
