ORWELL - Past and present Trumbull County Farm Bureau members were presented awards as the 2013 membership campaign kicks off. The event took place recently at Country Porch Winery in Cortland, where five members received the President's Golden Wheat Award.
Recipients of the award included:
Glenn and Sandee Smith of Mecca, who each served as county presidents, membership chairs and voting delegates to the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation annual meeting;
Paul Wilde of Gustavus, who has served as president, on the membership committee and as a voting delegate to the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation annual meeting;
Paul Aaron of Fowler, who served recently as the Food and Animal Issues Action Team leader, membership, scholarship, audit and budget committees, and has served as a delegate to the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation annual meeting;
Milton Eddie of Champion, who has served as the Communications Action Team leader and Membership Committee chairman.
The President's Golden Wheat Award was presented by President Mark Bockelman of Fowler for Farm Bureau members who have shown extraordinary service, commitment and dedication to achieving Farm Bureau goals and the membership campaign.
Past recipients include Margaret Stanhope, Elthie Logan, Evelyn Butler, Ruth Sharec, Harold and Betty Babb and Bob Banner.
