NILES Police are asking for the public's help in identifying two females they said threatened to shoot two loss prevention officers at the Eastwood Mall earlier this week.

Police said the two officers were threatened when they confronted the two females as they were attempting to steal merchandise at the Macy's department store around 7 p.m. Monday.

As the loss prevention officers tried to apprehend the females, one of them stated to "shoot them" and the other one put her hand in her purse and stated she was going to shoot them and told them to back off, according to a Niles police report.

Police said the two females fled the mall area in a black or gray Acura. Officers checked the immediate mall area and along U.S. Route 422 but did not locate anyone matching the descriptions.

The store was able to capture images of the females from digital video recordings.

Police said both females are black. One was wearing a gray coat and black hat, and the other one was wearing a red coat and hat, according to reports.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Niles police Detective Jim Robbins at 330-652-9944.
