HOWLAND - Earl DeLung Jr., 85, of Howland, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at home with family by his side.
Earl was born Dec. 7, 1928, in Montana Mines, W.Va., the son of the late Earl L. and Pearl Mae Woods DeLung.
He was retired in 1986 from American Welding and Manufacturing as a foreman and machine operator after 39 years of service.
Earl was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and enjoyed vegetable gardening and traveling around the United States with family, especially to Las Vegas to gamble.
He is survived by six children, Eric (Marianne) DeLung of Warren, Diane (William) Santell of Niles, Sue (Rick) Streb of Melbourne, Fla., Sondra (Thomas) Dively of Howland, Earl (Debbie) DeLung III of Byesville and Brian (Barb) DeLung of Bazetta; 13 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Erlene Boyland of Niles and Betty Timko of Girard.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Keck DeLung; one son, Denny DeLung; and granddaughter, Janene Streb.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the Lane Family Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Drive, Warren, OH 44483, where the funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday.
Interment will follow in the Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.
