WARREN - Calvin Lyle Moy, 89, of Warren, died at 7:25 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at the Gillette Nursing Home in Warren.
He was born on July 22, 1924, in Fowler, the son of Cleon and Iva Moran Moy.
Mr. Moy was a member of the Central Christian Church; the Cortland Masonic Lodge 529; and the Moose Club.
Calvin was retired in July 1985 after 43 years of service from Republic / LTV Steel as a furnace operator.
He was also an honorably discharged U.S. Army veteran during World War II, serving from Jan. 15, 1943, to Dec. 28, 1945.
Survivors include his wife, the former Margie Proudfoot Moran, whom he married on Oct. 20, 1990; his children, Richard (Shirley) Moy of Cortland, and Gerald Moy of Brookfield; his stepchildren, David (Catherine) Moran of Niles and Debbie (James) Gould of Niles; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Other than his parents, Calvin was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Jennie Kloboves on Sept. 27, 1989 - they were united in marriage on October 9, 1943 - and two sisters and one brother.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the Gillette Nursing Home for their care they had showed to Calvin.
Memorial services will be held at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel in Cortland at 11 a.m. Friday, where family and friends may gather from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Pastor James Schimmel will celebrate Calvin's life.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Central Christian Church, 2051 E. Market St., Warren, Ohio 44483.
