WARREN - Anna H. Pack, 99, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at Just Like Home.
She was born Feb. 24, 1914, in Youngstown, the daughter of Martin and Kathryn Krempasky.
Anna moved to the Howland area in 1947 when she and her husband operated Pack's Risher Dairy, a grocery-gas station and curb service restaurant at Howland Corners.
In 1957, they built a new store and eatery located on the corner of Howland Wilson Road and East Market Street in Howland, which they operated until the early 1970s.
Anna was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, St. Vincent de Paul, and had been in the Altar and Rosary Society for more than 60 years.
She was an avid bowler and enjoyed reading - especially novels - crossword puzzles, traveling, playing cards and spending time with her family.
She was a great cook and baker, especially her Slovak pastries. She prepared Sunday dinners and played scrabble into her 90s.
She is survived by her two sons, Donald Pack of Cortland and David A. Pack of Howland; five grandchildren, Heidi Hall, Melissa Pack, Kristin (Brian) Pishotti, Nicole (Andrew) Slabaugh and Alyson Reed; four great-grandchildren, Mario and Mia Pishotti, Alex Hall and Drew Slabaugh; and a daughter-in-law, Willi Andersen of Nashville, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William V. "Bill" Pack, whom she married June 4, 1935, and passed away Sept. 20, 2005; a son, Raymond Pack; two brothers, Martin and Steve Krempasky; and two sisters, Julia Mraz and Kathryn Mraz.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Church with the Rev. Thomas Eisweirth officiating. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road N.E., Warren, OH 44483, and 10:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Church.
Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery, Cortland.
The family would like to thank Just Like Home for the care that they gave Anna for the past two years.
