By RON SELAK JR. , Tribune Chronicle |

McDONALD A 46-year-man shot at a family member, then took his own life this afternoon.

Police were called about 3 p.m. to 912 Indiana Ave. on a report of a domestic violence. They found James Fedoruk in a stairway of the home holding a gun.

When officers tried to talk Fedruk into putting the weapon down, he turned it on himself, taking his own life, police Chief Lou Ronghi said.

No one else was hurt.

Ronghi said it's believed Fedruk fired the handgun at least once at one of his family members, either at his estranged wife or adult son, who were both in the home, before police arrived.

The Trumbull County Coroner's Office and the Ohio Bureau of Investigation are helping with the investigation.
