COITSVILLE - Mildred M. Arendas, 89, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Health Center with her family by her side.
Mildred was born Aug. 8, 1924, in Farrell, Pa., the daughter of Michael and Mary Vagasky Bandzak.
She was a 1942 graduate of Farrell High School. She had worked in the cosmetic department at G.C. Murphy Company in Farrell and Sharon, Pa.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and Lutheran Brotherhood.
Her husband, John Arendas, whom she married Sept. 22, 1951, passed away March 13, 1980.
She will be sadly missed by her son, Chuck (Debbie) Arendas of Lowellville, and her granddaughter, Dr. Charlene Arendas.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Johnny Bandzak, Mikey Bandzak, Andrew Banjak, Mike Banjak and John Bandzak, and sisters, Anna Dzurinda, Emma Rust, Mary Kuchmak, Pauline Bandzak and infant Eva Bandzak.
There will be calling hours from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home and from 10 to 11 a.m Monday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Hermitage, Pa. Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the church.
Mildred will be laid to rest at St. John's Cemetery in Lowellville.
