IMPERIAL, Pa. - Katherine Georges, 83, passed away Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at her daughter's home.
She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Georges, married 62 years at the time of his passing.
She was born July 12, 1930 in Canonsburg, Pa., the daughter of Nick and Penelope Diakakis.
Katherine is survived by her son, George M. (Arnette) and Pamela (Nick) Volakis, both of the Pittsburgh area; six grandchildren; a brother, Tony Diakakis of Canonsburg, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Carrie Conis and Marsha Stamatakis.
She was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Warren, Yasou Club, Philoptochos Society, Daughters of Penelope and the Church Choir. Katherine cherished her church, family and wonderful friends.
She was an avid baker and artist.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, with a Trisagion Service at 6 p.m. at the Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church with the Rev. Constantine Valantasis officiating.
Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Warren.
