BACKPACK PROGRAM STARTS IN NILES: Second Harvest Food Bank has implemented a BackPack Program at Niles Intermediate School for 150 children in third to fifth grades. The BackPack Program is a national program of Feeding America and is designed to ensure that children have access to the food they need over the weekend and on holidays.
Funding for the BackPack Program came from a collaborative effort of the Fibus Family Foundation, Ruth H. Beecher Charitable Trust through the PNC charitable trust grant review committee, Thomases Family Foundation, The Walter E. and Caroline H. Watson Foundation, The Youngstown Foundation and individual donors.
FAIRHAVEN EARNS HONOR: The Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities, also known as the Fairhaven Program, has been accredited for a period of three years for its Community Employment Services Employment Supports and Job Development, and Employment Planning Services programs. The latest accreditation is the fourth consecutive three-year accreditation that the international accrediting body.
The Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities / Fairhaven Program is a local county governmental organization providing services throughout Trumbull County.
WINTER CRISIS ASSISTANCE: Trumbull Community Action Program, 1230 Palmyra Road S.W., Warren, is offering emergency utility bill assistance under the Winter Crisis Program through March 31. The program can help eligible households avoid utility disconnection; restore disconnected service; establish new service; and purchase fuel oil, propane, coal, and wood.

SUPPORT GROUP SETS MEETING: Gamblers Anonymous, a 12-Step fellowship of compulsive gamblers who want to recover from their gambling addictions, will meet in the Youngstown-Warren area.
