WEATHERSFIELD Twp. - William L. Pettigrew, 75, passed away Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at The Cleveland Clinic.
Bill was born June 19, 1938, in Gilpin Township, Pa., the son of the late Herbert T. and Mabel G. Walker Pettigrew.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, Bill retired from General Motors. He had previously worked at Taylor Winfield Induction Heating Equipment and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Bill enjoyed golfing, camping, gambling and antique tractors and autos. He was a member of Niles SCOPE.
His memories will be cherished by his wife, the former Dolores Kunkle, whom he married Sept. 24, 1960; one son, Ted W. (Wendy) Pettigrew of Weathersfield Township; one daughter, Monica L. (Kenneth) Ray of Niles; two brothers, Earl D. Pettigrew of Vandergrift, Pa., and Kenneth H. Pettigrew of Leechburg, Pa.; one sister, Myrtle M. Prunty of Leechburg; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a grandson, Steven.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, 962 North Road N.E., Warren, OH 44483, where a funeral service will be offered at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with Pastor David Conrad officiating. Interment will follow in Pineview Cemetery in Warren.
