CORTLAND - Charlotte L. Tomsich, 83, of Cortland, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born Jan. 9, 1930, in Leavittsburg, the daughter of the late Warren and Elmyra Erlin Snyder.
She was a registered nurse, graduating from Trumbull Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1951. Her nursing career comprised working at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, private duty nursing and concluded by being school nurse for Lakeview School System for 25 years.
Charlotte married William H. Tomsich on Jan. 18, 1952, who preceded her in death March 20, 2008.
She enjoyed her family and friends, reading, cooking and traveling. She and her husband enjoyed ballroom dancing.
Loving memories of Charlotte will be carried on by her three daughters, Mrs. Denise (Charles) Maxwell of Bazetta Township, Ms. Cynthia Greenwood of Cortland and Mrs. Randy (Pamela) Moran of Bazetta Township; grandsons, Sean (Natalie) Greenwood of Howland and Scott (Elizabeth) Moran of Fowler; granddaughter, Mrs.William (Tiffany) Danso of Cortland; great-granddaughter, Ellison Greenwood; and great-grandson, Deegan Moran. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; one half-sister and one half-brother.
Family and friends are kindly invited to visit from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, with Pastor Jim Dittmar officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Bazetta Township.
