GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Russell Kellar, 97, of Gainesville, passed away Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, in Gainesville, Fla.
He was born Dec. 15, 1916, in Parkersburg, W.Va., a son of Steven and Myra Kellar.
He served his country in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Kellar retired from Van Huffel Tube in Warren. He enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening and sports, especially the Cleveland Indians and Browns.
He was a member of Mecca Church.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Genevieve Ashby Kellar; children, Bill Kellar, Dick Kellar, Nancy Lee Stewart and Doris Ann Garrett; sisters, Evelyn Minton and Eileen Linville; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Delores Jean Crouser; brothers, Denver and Everett Kellar; and sisters, Velma Kellar and Yvonne Thorn.
Services will be held at a later date in Mecca.
