GIRARD -- A body, possibly that of 87-year-old Thelma Brown, who went missing early Saturday, was recovered from a pond on the Mahoning County County Club property about 8:30 a.m. Sunday.
Police have tentatively identified the body as Brown and said no foul play was suspected at the time of their report. She was discovered in the pond by the U.S. Marshal Task Force Services, which aided the Girard Police in searching for the Hazel Street woman.
The body was taken to the Trumbull County Coroners office for further investigation. The Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Ohio Special Response Team and the Liberty and Hubbard police departments aided the Girard Fire and Police Department with the search as well.
