Thank you, thank you, thank you! I was blessed to take part in a community service project in which we decided to join forces with the 5/6 Council at Youngstown Air Reserve Station and Trumbull Memorial Hospital Labor & Delivery / Mother Baby Care Unit.
The overwhelming support and contributions helped raise an abundance of gifts, money, gift cards and merchandise donations. We were able to adopt a needy family for Christmas consisting of a single mother of four who recently lost everything in a fire, as well as 50 residents at Washington Square Nursing Home in Warren, where many veterans are housed.
Special thanks to the 5/6 Council, all fellow airmen, family support, friends / coworkers in Labor & Delivery / Mother Baby Care Unit as well as all other employees at Trumbull Memorial Hospital that supported us, Sam's Club and Up A Creek in Warren, which both generously sponsored our project. And, last but not least, the two anonymous ladies who overheard us discussing gifts to buy our adoptive family at Kohl's and also contributed money.
This project has truly defined the real meaning of Christmas and reminds us all of the love and compassion that surrounds us daily.
Thanks so very much to all, God bless each and every one who has touched the hearts of these special people and shared to provide them a nice Christmas.
Very Merry Christmas to you!
