LEAVITTSBURG - Edith Leona Heverley Myers, 98, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, Dec. 18, 2013, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
Edith was born April 30, 1915, in Lanes Mills, Pa., a daughter of the late Charles Nelville and Nellie Jane Gordon Heverley, and moved to this area in 1962.
A graduate of Snyder High School, Edith retired as a home nurse and was a longtime member of the Braceville Christian Church.
She was the manager of SCOPE rhythm band for 18 years, and in 2000 was awarded Trumbull County Senior of the Year by SCOPE.
Edith enjoyed gardening and flowers and especially spending time with her family.
She will be sadly missed and her memories will be cherished by her two sons, Albert Richard (Patricia) Harper of Harrisville, Pa., and Ronald Dean Myers of Leavittsburg; two daughters, Nellie Naomi (Jack) Dodds of Greenville, Pa., and Nancy Marie Wagner of Warren; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Edith was preceded in death by a son, Roger Eugene Myers; four brothers, George Edward Heverley, Walter Lee Heverley, William Heverley and Charles Carlyle Heverley; and four sisters, Annabell Nale, Mamie Ephema Munn, Charlotte Lucrecia Puff and Arlene Heverley.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until noon Saturday at Braceville Christian Church, 4387 Church St. S.W., Newton Falls, OH 44444, where a funeral service will be held at noon, with Jon Pratt officiating.
Entombment will follow in St. Rose Cemetery in Hermitage, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
