AUSTINTOWN - Agnes C. Houser, 93, of Austintown, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at Humility House, peacefully with her family by her side.
Agnes was born in Trumbull County on Feb. 18, 1920. She was the daughter of David and Dora Christlieb.
She graduated from West Farmington High School in 1938 and worked at Johnson Rubber in Middlefield. She married the late Gale W. Houser on April 20, 1946.
Agnes and Gale resided in Gustavus, where she took care of the family farm until 1960. They moved to Austintown where she worked along side her husband at Houser's Home Bakery.
Agnes' greatest joy in life was her family. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She also enjoyed garage sales, bingo, crossword puzzles and watching wrestling.
Agnes leaves to cherish her memory her children, Ronald (Andrea) Houser, Russel (Mary Wagner) Houser, Debra Houser-Rutushin and Diane (Sean Riley) Gollner. She also leaves eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of Austintown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gale Houser, whom she was married to for 65 wonderful years; parents; her son, Allan Houser; sisters and brothers; and a son-in-law, Tim Rutushin.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home Inc. in Youngstown. Services will begin at 6:30 p.m. with Pastor Russ Adams.
Burial will take place in the North View Cemetery in Gustavus.
The family wants to extend their gratitude to the staff at the Humility House and Hospice of the Valley for their care and comfort they provided.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley in memory of Agnes C. Houser.
