LORDSTOWN -- Lordstown Schools were on a two-hour delay this morning as police continued to search for a person in the area believed to have been involved in a fatal shooting in Warren Monday night.
Tribune Chronicle news partner WYTV Channel 33 is reporting that while the school did not implement the standard closing procedures with media outlets, administrators chose to use an in-house call system alerting families in the district.
Attemtps to reach school officials this morning were not successful.
Khaled Nasser, 22, was fatally shot around 9:30 p.m. Monday during a robbery attempt at Atlantic Beverage located at the corner of Vine Avenue and Atlantic Street. The suspect took Nasser's car, which initiated a police chase with shots being fired at the officer in the cruiser following the vehicle.
Warren Township Police Chief Don Bishop said this morning that although the search was ``officially'' called off around 1 a.m. police remain in the area ``just in case.''
