EAST LIVERPOOL - An East Liverpool woman who was rescued from the Ohio River after jumping early Saturday morning remains in critical condition at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.
A hospital spokeswoman said Cynthia Boyce, 55, was admitted to the intensive care unit.
Boyce, who jumped into the river from the Newell Bridge shortly before 4 a.m. Saturday, was rescued after toll booth worker Gene Simmons called authorities. Newell volunteer firefighters deployed a rescue boat, found her conscious and brought her to shore on the West Virginia side.
Boyce was taken to East Liverpool City Hospital by the Chester-Newell Ambulance Service and then transported to Pittsburgh.
