A couple weeks ago, Trumbull County CSB was asking for foster parents. They were doing this via news and billboards everywhere.
We can understand why they are looking for foster parents.
But then there's all the "sugar-coated" garbage they tell you. Filling hopes and dreams and then bam, your foster kids are torn out of your homes and your hearts get broken.
We understand reunification. But another foster mom who had two of five siblings and didn't want the two we had from the beginning, then went behind our backs and took them from us, and all she could say is, "I'm sorry, their siblings really pushed for this."
Because she is with a foster parent association that works closely with CSB, she gets what she wants.
With the exception of our worker, we feel that they mislead, from the other workers all the way to the senior supervisor.
The senior supervisor told us bide your time, you'll get what you want. We thought that meant we will get to adopt these children. Later, that supervisor denied saying that's what she meant.
We went to court, and CSB's own lawyer told us once the paperwork comes through, we can start the adoption process. And then a few weeks later, we were asked by the kids' worker if we would mind waiting until the paperwork came through for the older sibling. We said sure.
The kids' worker told us she never saw kids removed from a home that have been there so long. We had the siblings for two years.
So you can only imagine the bond and attachment that was there.
