WARREN - Celeste Caniglia, 90, of Warren, passed away Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland.
Celeste was born June 1, 1923, in Warren, the daughter of Michael A. and Elodia Campana.
She was a 1941 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and attended Trumbull College. Celeste retired in 1983 after 20 years from Ajax Magnathermic as a secretary in the parts department.
She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish (St. James Church) in Warren, and the Over 50 club. Celeste enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, John A Caniglia, whom she married July 29, 1950; four children, Mary Jo (Allen) Braden Sr., Jo Anne Caniglia, O.P., Susan Ellen (James) DiNucci and John A. (Korinne) Caniglia Jr.; eight grandchildren, Lisa Braden and twin Lori (Kenneth) Van Horn, Kelly (Mark) Himes, Jill, Olivia (Kabir) Moss and Claire DiNucci, Michael and Patrick Caniglia; one great-grandchild, Bryce Van Horn; and two sisters, Mary Zador of Warren and Jeanne DeLucia of Lady Lakes, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Angelo Campana; and a sister, Rose LaRock.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. A Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish (St. James Church) in Warren with the Rev. James P. Walker officiating.
Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.
